At the beginning of the class I was curious to know and see more about my past, a long experience of up and down in my relationship to food.
But actually it was three years ago that I decided to stop going on diets because I think I started accepting everything inside me exactly as it was, and this inner experience had an effect on my outer relationship with body.
But I was still curious to know WHY for a long time, before meeting Focusing, I didn’t have self-acceptance. And I got very surprising answers that took me back to my childhood and my relationship to my mother.
And something that I’m noticing now is that my relationship with the beach and my body is completely different.
Before I was crossing the beach completely covered, thinking I have got a big belly or whatever. Now I’m crossing the beach exactly as I am and I enjoy it. I’m not thinking that someone is looking at me and thinking “Ughh!” What a relief this is!
I’m also realizing I can avoid certain foods that are not good for me without suffering. It’s kind of a natural thing. So I got good results, I’m very satisfied. And at the same time, I know there is something deeper inside me that I have still to discover.
It was also important that I experienced that we could really go down inside because we are held by the group, by this circle.
For me, the most surprising and beautiful experience was really the part of the course about the Heartfelt Conversation and this shift from “me here” to “we here.” And it was extremely important and also extremely new for me. It made me realize that connection goes far beyond words.
I couldn’t really imagine these new experiences compared to my normal way of knowing Focusing. So I want to continue experimenting with it.
And for me of course it is important to continue with my partner from the class – experiencing and revising how to use what we learned for ourselves with clients.
I so much enjoyed my experience with Jocelyn and What Am I Hungry For? that I decided to learn
more about Wholebody Focusing and Heartfelt Conversation (totally new for me before our
"journey" with Jocelyn) and now I am planning to take further training.
